1. Purpose and Commitment
Tribees (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to providing a safe and positive environment for all users, including children and young people, who interact with the Tribees Albums App.
This Child Safety Standards Policy outlines the steps we take to protect minors from harm, ensure their privacy and security, and comply with all applicable child safety regulations — including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the Google Play Families Policy Requirements.
We believe in the importance of empowering users — especially children and their guardians — to have control over their information and experience within the Tribees ecosystem.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
The Tribees Albums App and any associated online services provided through https://tribees.com;
All content uploaded, stored, or shared within the App (“User Content”);
Any user under the age of 18 (“child” or “minor”) and their parent or guardian.
3. Age-Appropriate Design and Access
The Tribees Albums App is not designed primarily for children under 13 years of age.
Users under 13 must not create an account or provide personal information without verified parental consent.
If we become aware that a child under 13 has registered without parental consent, we will immediately delete the account and all related data.
Where applicable, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and relevant international equivalents.
4. Parental Supervision and Control
Parents or legal guardians are encouraged to:
Supervise their child’s use of the App and help manage privacy and sharing settings;
Review any albums, photos, or content shared publicly or with third parties;
Contact us at help@tribees.com to request account deletion or data removal for their child.
The Tribees Albums App includes settings and controls that allow users to manage who can view or interact with their shared content.
5. Collection and Use of Children’s Information
Tribees only collects the minimum personal information necessary to provide its services.
For minors, we do not knowingly collect, use, or share personal data beyond the following limited purposes:
Account setup with parental or guardian consent;
Uploading and organising photos and albums within the app;
Technical and diagnostic information for performance and security;
Compliance with legal obligations.
We do not use children’s data for targeted advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or share any personal information for marketing purposes.
6. Data Security and Storage
We maintain strict technical and organisational safeguards to protect all user data, including that of minors, from unauthorised access, disclosure, or misuse.
This includes:
Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS);
Secure storage in controlled environments;
Access limited to authorised personnel;
Regular security audits and compliance reviews.
If a data breach occurs that may affect a child’s personal information, we will notify the parent or guardian and the relevant data protection authorities in accordance with law.
7. User Content and Sharing
Children should be supervised when uploading or sharing content within the Tribees Albums App.
We encourage parents and guardians to guide minors to:
Avoid sharing identifiable personal details (e.g., full name, address, school, etc.);
Respect the privacy of others when uploading photos or comments;
Report any inappropriate or concerning content via help@tribees.com.
Tribees reserves the right to remove content that violates our Terms of Use or child safety standards.
8. Education and Awareness
Tribees promotes digital literacy and safe online behaviour by:
Providing in-app notifications and guides about privacy and safety;
Encouraging respectful communication and positive content sharing;
Maintaining transparent policies about how data is collected, used, and stored.
